Paradise Road Farm provides a convenient home base for exploring the local area including Cradle Mountain, Mt Roland and Mole Creek.

Cradle Mountain

The farm is located on the main road to Cradle Mountain and it’s just a short 45 minute drive to this iconic World Heritage wilderness area.

Mt Roland

The stunning scenery of Mt Roland dominates life at the farm. Tracks to the summit offer a very different perspective. The return walk takes approximately 6 hours (depending on your level of fitness) as you travel through tall eucalypt forest, ancient Antarctic Beech, alpine vegetation and boulders to the summit (from where it’s possible to see the farm).

Mole Creek

Mole Creek is situated on the other side of the Gogg Range- 25km and roughly 25 minutes drive from the farm. It’s possible to spend a full day exploring what this area has to offer.

Mole Creek Caves

These spectacular limestone caves feature galleries of stalagmites and stalactites, underground rivers, glow worms and other unique cave life. More information is available from the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service.

Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary

Meet Tasmanian Devils up close! Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary is home to the world's largest heritage population of endangered Tasmanian Devils. This privately owned wildlife sanctuary has been caring for native Tasmanian fauna and flora since 1979 and is also home to a range of other marsupials, birds and reptiles. Make sure you arrive prior to a 'tour' time so you have the opportunity to see the devils up close.

Alum Cliffs walk

Turn off between Mole Creek and Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary for this short 15minute walk affording stunning views over the Alum Cliffs. This area has special significance to traditional owners and more information is available on the walk.

Tasmanian Tasting Trail

The North West of Tasmania (and the areas surrounding Sheffield) are blessed with some of the finest soil and land to grow produce and ingredients that Tasmania is famous for. The Tasmanian Tasting trail is a self drive trail designed to guide you and your taste buds in discovering the fresh produce, food and wine that local farmers and producers have to offer. Please note that many of the producers on the trail are small micro enterprises and are subject to seasonal opening hours so its always wise to check directly with individual listings before embarking on your Tasting Trail journey.
